Enhancing Clinical Skills Through Client/Therapist Role-Play

TIME: 4:15-6:00 PM     1.5 Core Hours, LPCA and NBCC Approved

Here's what you can expect from this interactive learning experience:

  • LPCs will play the role of the client presenting with challenging diagnoses to train new clinicians.
  • Students/graduates pursing licensure will play the role of the therapist to enhance clinical skills.
  • Participants will identify and discuss the experience, including the counseling process, transference/counter-transference, skills and techniques.

Because licensure is a complicated process, rules and laws are changing, LPCA provides 3 options for receiving help with the process. (Don't forget to fill out the form Date & Time of Consult on the right hand side of the page)

 Choose the option which best fits your needs.

 1.   Brief Consultation

One-time, Brief (30 minutes) Phone Consultation regarding licensure.

Cost: Free for LPCA members; $40 non-members.  Register

2.  Phone Consultation Regarding Applications & Credentials

Individual, ongoing consultation (up to 3, 20 minute contacts) with members of LPCA’s License Support Committee

Cost:  Free to  LPCA members; $75.00 non-members ($35.00 can be applied to membership fee) Register

3.  Office Consultation Personal Service:   In person review of License Application materials

Cost per 1 hour session - $65.00 LPCA members; $90.00 non-members ($35.00 can be applied to membership fee)

4.  Mentor Request  -  Available to members only.  Available by email, phone and in person appointment
