Counseling Supervision: Rules, Documentation and Responsibilities

This is the official endorsement workshop for the Licensed Professional Counselors Association of Georgia (LPCAGA) Jurisprudence Exam. Completion of this course is the prerequisite for taking the jurisprudence examination for “CPCS by Endorsement” applicants.

CE Hours: Approved for 6 Ethical/Legal/Supervision continuing education hours.  In addition, the course can be used to fulfill meeting the continuing education requirement for Georgia licensure renewal.

This workshop will provide information from both the supervisor and supervisee perspective on:

• Georgia Law and Board Rules in Clinical Counseling Supervision
• Examination of ethical codes for supervision
• Review of Georgia licensure processes for the Associate Professional Counselor (APC) and the Professional Counselor (LPC)
• Review of the importance of proper documentation, including recommended supervision forms
• Overview of the roles of supervisors to meet regulations to enhance the supervisory experience and strengthen the supervisees professional competence
• Review of relevant topics such as notifying the licensure board of supervision changes, supervision tools, etc.
