Though we are trained in clinical techniques in graduate school, sometimes we place too great an emphasis on these skills and miss out on another important therapeutic approach. Based on research, it is proven that the therapeutic relationship is the strongest indicator of client success. Yet, we often are not trained in how to appropriately and effectively utilize this amazing skill. In this one hour workshop, you will learn how to do just that, use the therapeutic relationship to help meet treatment goals.

Objective 1:
Participants will identify their own biases and personal histories that they bring into the therapeutic relationship.

Objective 2:
Participants will examine how to use the “here and now” to address client concerns and meet treatment objectives.

Objective 3:
Participants will gain skills to teach clients how to improve their personal relationships based on the exploration of the relationship one has with their therapist.
