The Journal publishes manuscripts on clinical practice, current professional issues, new techniques, education, training, research related to counseling professional and applied psychology and related behavioral sciences.It was created by professional counselors, counselor educators and other licensed mental health professionals under the direction of the Licensed Professional Counselors Association Board of Directors in 1992.2016, the journal has received 674 submissions and published 337 articles with an acceptance rate of 50%. The Georgia Journal of Professional Counseling publishes empirical research in the areas of: • counseling activities (including assessment, interventions, consultation, supervision, training, prevention, and counseling practice) The Georgia Journal of Professional Counseling considers manuscripts that deal with clients who are not severely disturbed, who have problems with living, or who are experiencing developmental crises. Manuscripts that deal with the strengths or healthy aspects of more severely disturbed clients also are considered. Both quantitative and qualitative methods are appropriate. Extensions of previous studies, implications for public policy or social action, and counseling research and applications are encouraged.
