We will review currents methods of documentation recommended for supervisors and supervisees. Ethical codes for supervision and documentation will be examined. Learning Objectives:
![]() Presenter: Carolyn Ramp, EdS, LPC, CPCS, CGRS has over 40 years of experience working with families and individuals. She has successfully owned two private practices in Augusta, GA with teams of ten-fifteen therapists. She is trained by ACA in ethics and offers several workshops. Carolyn has an Ed.S. in Counseling from Georgia Southern and is an Approved Clinical Supervisor and a CPCS. Her experience is varied and includes schools, agencies and private practice. She is trained in Love and Logic Parenting Program and is a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist.
9:00 AM, Saturday, July 16, 2022 Supervising Counselors who Treat Foster Children 3.0 Supervision - Specialized Supervisors who work with counselors in training that encounter foster care clients and families face unique challenges with their suprvisiees. Using the Framework of the Integrative Developmental Model of Supervision, participants will engage in group discussion, case scenarios, and lecture to assist participants in listing the unique challenges faced by supervisees who treat foster care clients, analyze case scenarios presented by their supervisees, and also create a plan to address supervisees who work with foster children and their families in order to build competent counselors who work in the foster care system. 1:00 PM, SATURDAY , July 16, 2022 Addressing Race, Ethnicity and Culture in Clinical Supervision 3.0 Supervision - Specialty America’s current landscape is a highly charged socio-political terrain, where racial, ethnic, political, religious and cultural minority groups may present in supervision with high levels of stress. Participants will explore the importance of addressing social justice issues in supervision. Participants’ will be introduced to the major models of social justice supervision and learn to apply them to their clinical supervision practice. Learning Objectives:
![]() Presenter: LaVerne Hanes Collins, PhD, NCC, ACS, BC-TMH, LPC, LCMHC For 25 years, Dr. Collins has been a counselor, trainer, consultant, author, textbook contributor, and speaker. Nationally and internationally, she is recognized as an advocate for underserved populations. Her career history includes serving as program director for the NBCC Foundation and interim vice president for NBCC’s Foundation and Professional Services Division, in addition to roles as Counselor, Clinical Supervisor; Grants Manager; Clinical Training Coordinator, and Executive Director. Since 2011, she has owned an Atlanta-based private practice and training agency: New Seasons Counseling, Training, and Consulting. She also serves as the clinical director at Restoration Place Counseling in Greensboro. Her experience also includes having served as Adjunct Faculty at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro (UNCG). Her professional interests include multicultural counselor training on race, faith, culture, and trauma; genocide awareness; women’s issues; and substance abuse assessment. Dr. Collins earned her bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University; her MSEd (CACREP-accredited) in community counseling from Duquesne University; and PhD in Christian counseling from South Florida Bible College and Seminary.
